Lufthansa serves wine from Gérard Depardieu’s Vineyard

Cabernet-d’Anjou featured in Business Class on flights in Europe

East Meadow, NY, July 8, 2010 – Throughout the summer, Business Class passengers aboard Lufthansa’s European routes will enjoy a very special wine from France’s Loire Valley: a Cabernet-d’Anjou 2009 from the Chateau de Tigné estate of celebrated French actor Gérard Depardieu.

Depardieu has long been an enthusiast of fine wines and upon acquiring the chateau, which is located in the region known as the Garden of France, was immediately enraptured with its vineyard and wine cellars and set out to become a vintner. Each year, the vineyard crafts the choicest of wines, among them the rosé Cabernet-d’Anjou 2009, which is pressed from the two Cabernet vines to develop a distinctive flavor reminiscent of fine citrus fruits and raspberries.

The Cabernet-d’Anjou 2009 from the Chateau de Tigné estate is noted for its stimulating character and is delightful to the palate. It pairs perfectly with Lufthansa’s summer menu.
