Hotel Review: The Quin Hotel – A modern masterpiece

The Quin, a 1926 beaux arts building turned posh hotel in midtown Manhattan, is one of New York City’s newest luxury lifestyle hotels. Situated at the corner of 57th and 6th Avenue, its prime location is just blocks from art, music, fashion—Central Park, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Times Square and the designer shops of Fifth Avenue.

The main lobby is where guests will spy vanilla-colored marble floors, dramatic high-mirror tile ceilings, and a lounge area set across from a stark white marble front desk backed by a fire red art piece.

Art plays an important role in the ambience of this hotel. Former residents who called the building home during the late 20th century are some of the most celebrated artists and musicians in history, including Marc Chagall, Georgia O’Keeffe and the famous pianist, Ignacy Paderewski.

An eye-catching video wall, a centerpiece to the Quin Arts experience, features interactive compositions created by artists in residence. Highlights have featured the likes of Award-winning photographer and filmmaker Robert Christian Malmberg.

Guests will find a large and carefully curated art collection weaved throughout public areas and in individual guest rooms, including works by famed street artist, Nick Walker, who has been a part of the Quin Arts residence program.

This boutique property has 208-guest rooms and 28 suites, chicly decorated with dark wood furnishings, fawn and grey tone fabrics, accented by crisp white Sferra linens on Duxiana beds. In-room Nespresso machines and Evolve technology panels add just the right touch to those fine details in comfort.

Downstairs off the lobby is the beautiful two-story Wayfarer restaurant, perfect for a quintessential NYC dining experience.

Don’t Miss: The personal attaché service, included with all Quin hotel bookings, is a notch above traditional concierge services. Before guests land in NYC, a member from their expert attaché group is hard at work, sending introductory emails asking what shows or restaurants a guest would like booked. They also help with suggestions, such as the Quin Arts calendar, where guests have the opportunity to be a part of events, lectures, film premieres, artist receptions and musical performances.
