Franschhoek, Cape Winelands, South Africa, April, 2010 – The popular Le Quartier Français Culinary Concierge offering has been updated and includes a new introduction to winemaking and a program covering the basics of bread, butter and cheese making.  These are in addition to the already extensive LQF Culinary Concierge programs which have been reworked ensuring that guests continue to experience unforgettable culinary adventures.

Back to Basics:  A true artisanal experience.  Discover how to turn dough into bread, cream into butter and milk into cheese.  Spend time going back-to-basics in the owner’s kitchen.  Learn how to use a natural starter to bake sourdough bread in a wood burning oven, discover the therapeutic nature of churning butter from farm cream and explore the art of making a selection of fresh cheeses.

The Lynx Experience: Wine is a life long love affair.  Perfect for those who want an unforgettable introduction to wine, or those who want to reinvigorate their love affair with the grape.  Spend time at Lynx wine farm with Dieter Sellmeyer, Lynx proprietor and winemaker, and his assistant Inge Terrblanche, learning about the various steps and stages involved in winemaking.  End off the experience with a relaxed gourmet picnic lunch on the Lynx lawn.

Tailor made culinary experiences/personalized culinary adventures are available and created for a specific individual or group and designed to perfectly suit their tastes and interests.

Annemarie Steenkamp, under the expert guidance of Margot Janse, is the LQF Culinary Concierge.

Annemarie’s training, as a former Tasting Room(voted 31st in ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants) sous chef, ensures that she is perfectly equipped to lead the LQF Culinary Concierge Program. Her role includes guiding guests on culinary excursions, teaching them various skills – including what we do and how we do it – and introducing them to the Franschhoek Valley and its many delights.
